The College of New Jersey is excited to offer on-campus internship opportunities as apart of the College Enhancement Internship Program. The internships offered are within Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Development and Enrollment Management.
The internships are paid and interns are required to work 15 hours a week. Applicants must be rising Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Advancement Services Intern
Position Description: This intern will apply basic and intermediary accounting skills to assist with reporting structures within the department. Applicants should have knowledge of Excel and a desire to learn standards of reporting used in accounting.[
Position Description: This intern will assist with event planning, such as Alumni Reunion and Homecoming. Additionally, this intern will do some Web Development work and also work to expand the Linked In marketing presence.
Center for Academic Success Intern
Position Description: Duties focus on the planning and coordination of key programs and services intended to facilitate greater student engagement in meaningful co-curricular experiences and/or to facilitate efforts to build a more cohesive and caring sense of community among students, faculty, staff, and alumni at TCNJ.
Admissions Marketing and Assessment Intern
Position Description: Assist with recruitment efforts and social media campaigns while providing quality customer service to all constituents.
Center for Student Success Peer Mentoring Program Intern
Position Description: Help the Center for Student Success complete their mission of empowering students to reach their full potential. Work closely with the Assistant Director for Mentoring and Retention to coordinate strategic programming and monitoring program participants. Research peer mentoring models and best practices at comparative schools and help establish a program at TCNJ.
Academic Affairs Technology Intern
Position Description: Provide support for the implementation of BlackBoard Analytics. Help in developing new dashboards. Maintain CIE Institutional Research website and assist in developing reports as necessary.
Academic Affairs Assessment Intern
Position Description: Provide support for 2015 MSCHE visit & other accreditation deliverables. Track and organize assessment data across academic and administrative units. Maintain the CIE assessment webpage and assist with developing reports.
Center for Global Engagement Intern
Position Description: The CEI will play a key role in promoting study abroad programs and will work to develop a marketing plan for the Center of Global Engagement. Will also assist the CGE Graduate Assistant with different programing efforts.
Institute for ESL and American Studies Intern
Position Description: Manage social media and advertising for the Institute and communicate with prospective students and international students on campus in a variety of ways.
Records and Registration Intern
Position Description: This intern will look at key elements for student engagement and success with the goal of developing an enrollment concept that starts immediately after the admissions deposit through finalizing of the registration at Orientation. Implement a thorough and concerted overall communication plan for new undergraduate students by infusing a ‘high tech with high touch’ approach.
Position Description: Assist the department as we upgrade our use of technology. Knowledge of or willingness to learn databases (e.g. Filemaker Pro), assist in building the new athletics database, assist with tracking data, assist with outlining and formatting department polices and procedures handbooks, assist with business travel arrangements for the AVP & Sr. Assoc. AD, assist the AVP with additional special projects.
Counseling and Psychological Services Intern
Position Description: The ideal candidate must be accomplished in interpersonal skills, collaboration, and leadership, with exceptional organizational skills. Knowledge related to mental health, wellness, and optimum personal functioning will enhance the candidacy. The candidate should have familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, basic statistical analysis and Qualtrics, and with popular social media.
Position Description: Engage in outreach to the College community including: maintenance of the Student Conduct website, enhancement and maintenance of a mediation Facebook group, and facilitation of the recruitment process for Community Standards Board members, mediators, and other committee members. Work with the Assistant Director of Student Conduct to develop and execute an in-service training series on a weekly basis.
Off-Campus Life Intern
Position Description: Engage in outreach to off campus students including: maintenance of an email mailing list and the new Off Campus Life website, development of a Facebook group, and facilitation of the distribution and collection of an off campus student survey. Serve as a student liaison between the Off Campus Student Organization and the Office of the Dean of Students. Also assist with programming related to Off Campus Life.
Fraternity and Sorority life assessment Intern
Position Description: Engage in outreach and data collection including membership rosters, academic performance, dates of attendance, organizational conduct records, organizational and individual giving, community service and philanthropic giving, and other identifiable information. Analyze data collected through the College’s Fraternity and Sorority Values Based Assessment Program to identify trends and action items. Serve as a student resource to students and staff regarding collection and maintenance of membership rosters and information.
Career Center Assessment & Coordination Intern
Position Description: The primary duties of this intern include assessing, analyzing, and interpreting data for key program functions and services, including but not limited to the center’s annual report; Proficiency with Excel and database management programs a plus. Assist the CEI program by implementing training and supervision for CEIs across campus. Also assist with planning and development of new CEI positions and hiring.
Student Activities Coordinator
Position Description: Provide assistant to Student Activities and student organizations with the planning and implementation of training and programming activities. Additionally, utilize social media and the Student Activities website to engage the campus community regarding students and student organizations.
Position Description: marketing leadership courses, co-curricular activities, retreats and training programs. Assisting with planning of annual Student Leadership Awards program and as a teaching assistant for proposed Leadership FSP.
Residential Education Intern
Position Description: Develop mini-commercials that can be used for training purposes to help student staff learn about campus resources. Continue to aid in the development and enhancement of online training content. Develop an app that student staff and professional staff can use to track their training schedule, evaluate session content, access resources and participate in department wide assessment initiatives (such as a “question of the week” feature).
Vice President of Student Affairs Intern
Position Description: Assist the Vice President of Student Affairs Office with marketing and technology usage through social media and other platforms. Additionally, will provide support for different initiatives out of the Vice President of Student Affairs Office.
Spiritual Life Intern
Position Description: Research what other schools are doing related to promoting spirituality, mindfulness and compassion as components of overall health and wellness. Additionally, support faculty and staff programs to promote spirituality, mindfulness & compassion and attend and report to the AVP for Health and Wellness, Health & Wellness Unit Meetings, and student groups on research and activities in order to obtain input and advice as appropriate.
